Art Your

Do you have to be famous to have your art shown in an art museum or art exhibit?
And if you don't have to be famous to have your art displayed, do you have to pay museums to showcase your art?
Hi,
I've exhibited a couple of times and I'm really really far from being famous - heck ! I'm not even known in the market ![]()
Unfortunately, having good conexions still plays a too major roll on that.
Try finding out about art competitions.
A good site for that is http://www.artshow.com
There's an option to look by states.
Do you have a website ? A portfolio ?
Also take a look at the «Resources» (3 pages) at my website. You'll find lots of info.

Nowadays it seems to be a trend for artists to pay to exhibit.
Well, it may be a good option if you are known and have potential buyers. But for now I'd skip that.
If you think that your work is good (I mean GOOD), you can enter magazine contests, like International Artist magazine or Pastel Journal (only pastel and deadline on September).
Good luck and believe in yourself !
Kind regards,
José
