What kind of tree will grow quickly for a front landscape area with tall brick house?
Our house is three story and brick --need a tree for front landscape that is good sturdy quick growing. This area needs height to play down the tall brick walls in front-- need landscaping ideas for this area.
need to know your zone and what type of tree. in zone 7,for full sun, there are many choices based on how tall you want the tree to get. some like the aforementioned arborvitae do not grow very tall (25 to 35 ft tall based on variety). if its a shade tree you want i suggest october glory red maple. another quick grower that tops out at 30 feet is natchez crepe myrtle. willow oak is a fast grower. the fastest growing tree i know of is called green giant arborvitae. it is evergreen lke a cypress, has neddlelike foliage but is soft to the touch, and will grow from 3 to 4 feet a year to 30 feet tall and 15 feet wide. likes full sun and is tolerant of any kind of soil including clay.
