Romany Gypsy

Are Jewish, Muslim and Gypsy purity laws related?
I don't really know much about either rules, were they created in tandem, and are they similar?
My own cultural purity laws (romany) make things "marime" not "haram" but they share similarities with pre-talmud Jewish laws, and it sounds like the word 'haram' a bit.
I'm not expecting anyone to know anything about romany gypsy law, but it would be cool if you did. Due to migration, they started off in india and went through the middle east at some point.
What is the history of these rules, and did they merge and diverge?
well, here is a table. Tell me what you think Angels, if you are interested?
Romany law is about all kinds of things.

"mahrimé", is a word related with the Hebrew "herem" both by sound and meaning...
If the source below is accurate, then I think there are too many dissimilarities to suggest that they are closely related.
Jewish purity law is more about ritual impurity, marime seems to be (according to one source) more concrete and physical, I'm wondering if it isn't closer to Hindu caste laws? Maybe Siva can help?
It seems that the similarities are the universals - taboos that we find in many cultures - rather than the specifics. We have no real idea of when they originated or how they became so widespread. I'd say though that marime and Jewish purity laws are fairly disparate.
The fact of having purity laws probably made it easier for Jews and Roma to live in proximity with each other, even if the details were different.
---------------
Cherem is excommunication, tumah is impurity - so one meaning in common, but not the other. What's the root of mahrime? One source says that the -me is a Romanes suffix, which would put the root more as mhr.
Several sources says it might come from the Greek for 'polluted' but I can't find it in my lexicon. (Greek is bloody hard to look up if you don't get the root right and I'm 20 years out of practice.
Re: the comparison charts -- there are at least three misrepresentations of Judaism. A lot of similarities, but some striking differences which aren't included, like the whole upper body/lower body distinction. Also the idea that someone/thing which becomes mahrime cannot be restored. (A dish or cutlery is the example, Jewish law allows for high temperature washing to restore its kosher status.) Restrictions on interacting with foreigners (like drinking their wine) are about avoiding possible idolatry (because it may have been used in libations), foreigners aren't seen as inherently impure.
I'm most interested in Roma as being radical monotheists and Shabbat keepers. How on earth does that square with Catholicism?
